This Moon Mask is carved from one piece of red cedar by Junior Henderson from the Kwakwaka´wakw Nation. You can see the pattern of his beautiful knife finishing technique and the refined carving style.
The Moon Symbol is the protector and guardian of the earth. Its spirit watches over us and can change our moods.

The mask is painted in acrylic paint and has cedar bark around the rim. It is about 17 ½ inches or 45 centimeters wide, close to 19 inches or 48 centimeters long, and close to 5 inches or 13 centimeters deep.
